Wintersport-Arena to become Germany's first certified ski region

No other German winter sports region than the seven ski resorts belonging to the the Wintersport-Arena Card has taken such a dynamic development in the last 15 years and invested so much in the infrastructure. Now the top ski resorts of the Sauerland mountain range take a spearheading role on a national level again by becoming the first German ski region with to obtain the seal of approval for 'Verified Length of Runs'. In total the seven areas offer 65 kilometers of runs. The four neighboring ski areas around Kahler Asten mountain that are linked by very short ski bus rides sum up at 40 kilometers - as much as Germanys currently largest lift linked ski area. "Of course we market ourselves not primarily about the length of our runs," says Michael Beckmann, chairman of the Winter Sports Arena, "but in addition to our location on the doorstep of a large metropolitan area, high lift comfort and quality snowmaking we just offer real skiing - which we can demonstrate in a credible way now thanks to the certification of our 65 kilometers of runs".
